Our Verdict
Fjällräven's Abisko Padded Vest is a really lightweight, packable insulation piece. It is ideal for carrying as an extra or emergency layer and also to wear over a baselayer to keep the chill out. As usual, it is made with quality and the outer fabric has a nice feel to it and yet is remarkably durable. The synthetic insulation provides enough warmth to keep out the chill through the summer months and still works effectively when damp.
Two good sized pockets and a two way outer zip are useful features on such a lightweight piece. The hem and cuffs are elasticated to keep in the heat. This is a nice little piece for an extra layer but it is not a cold weather vest due to the lightweight nature of the insulation.
