Our Verdict
At 802g, the updated Hornet Elite OSMO 2P remains one of the lightest semi-freestanding double-wall tents available. The new OSMO fabric enhances water resistance and reduces stretch when wet, with the added benefit of being fully recyclable and PFAS-free.
Interior space is improved slightly thanks to the Flybar clip at the apex, which helps lift the inner walls. It’s still a close fit for two, but two standard-width mats do fit side by side. For solo use, as I would predominantly use this tent, it feels spacious with room to sprawl and plenty of space for my kit. Setup is quick and intuitive with a single-hub pole and colour-coded attachments. The mesh canopy offers strong airflow, and raised fly edges help reduce condensation build-up in humid conditions.
Durability is good for a tent this light, but care is needed on abrasive ground, especially without a footprint. It’s not designed for exposed summits, so careful site selection is important in strong winds.
