Our Verdict
The Neutrino Pro Down Hoody provides serious warmth with 212 g (Medium) of 800-fill-power European goose down in stitch-through baffles. At 590 g (Medium), it remains light, whilst allowing unrestricted mobility for its insulation level. The Pertex Quantum Pro outer is tough for its weight, fully windproof, and highly water resistant, keeping the down protected during prolonged exposure to snow and spindrift.
Fit is regular, with space for layering and a cut that moves well without bulk. The hood has a hook-and-loop volume tab but no crown cinch. Two face adjustments give a good seal, though they cannot be operated when the jacket is fully zipped, which feels like an oversight in a winter piece. The hem adjusts smoothly from either side. The cuffs are partly elasticated with hook-and-loop closures that work neatly with gloves, sealing out wind effectively.
The hand pockets are well-sized, fleece-lined, and positioned behind the down for extra warmth. Inside, there is one large dump pocket for gloves or maps and a discreet zipped security pocket. Overall warmth, comfort, and durability are excellent, making the Neutrino Pro a reliable choice for alpine and cold-weather mountain use.
