Our Verdict
The Odyssey Multi Shorts from Outdoor Research manage to stay impressively light at 144g (Medium), yet never feel flimsy. The material breathes well even in muggy conditions and dries quickly after stream crossings or rain. There’s enough stretch to handle scrambling and a gusseted crotch and side slits that aid with movment.
The fit is standard, with a mid-thigh cut that is neither too trim nor too baggy. The elastic waistband features a drawcord, which feels secure without digging in. The back right zip pocket includes a drainage hole and key clip. The fabric’s water-resistant finish and UPF 50+ rating complement a design that was intended for warm-weather versatility.
