Our Verdict
Weighing just 106g (UK 12), these are Rab’s most run-ready shorts yet, and they’ve found a solid place in my warm-weather kit. The lightweight Matrix fabric offers plenty of stretch and dries fast, while the liner adds support without riding up or clinging awkwardly. I’ve found the deep, elasticated waistband comfortable over longer efforts—it stays put and doesn’t bunch under a pack.
The 5-inch cut provides good coverage without restricting movement, and the bonded side split helps with high-stepping on steep ground. There is a zipped rear pocket for essentials like keys and two minimalist mesh pockets located on either side for quick access to gels, etc.
