Our Verdict
At 193g (Medium), the Rime Air IN Hybrid Vest offers well-judged insulation for active conditions. The main panels use synthetic fill that effectively retains heat, while the stretch side sections regulate temperature and allow a full range of motion. The result feels tailored rather than restrictive, ideal over a base layer or under a shell.
Wind and light moisture resistance are solid for the weight, keeping the core warm and protected. The finish feels robust despite the low bulk, and the elastic hem keeps the fit secure during movement. The vest stows neatly into its own pocket, and the high hand pockets remain usable with a harness or pack.
Breathability is excellent during steady climbs, avoiding the overheating often found in fully insulated pieces. The cut and materials make it an adaptable layer for a wide range of temperatures, maintaining comfort during continuous effort.
