Weighing 666g (Medium), the Rime Pro Belay IN Hooded Jacket is built for static warmth in exposed environments. The relaxed cut allows it to be pulled comfortably over a shell, while the helmet-compatible hood, long hem and high collar provide complete coverage when standing still. The fit feels purposeful, with space where needed and secure adjustment at the hem and cuffs to retain heat.
Mammut’s LOOPINSULATION, made from continuous synthetic fibres designed to mimic down loft, delivers strong warmth even when damp and retains its structure after repeated compression. It feels resilient yet not bulky, and the jacket’s recycled polyamide shell gives reliable protection from wind and light precipitation. Large, glove-friendly zips and harness-compatible pockets make it practical for technical use, and the internal gaiter collar effectively seals in warmth at rest.
Breathability is moderate, as expected for a belay piece, but the comfort and insulation level are excellent for cold, stationary periods.
