Carrying forward the legacy features of its best-selling predecessor, Dagger OSMO includes a color-coded, DAC Featherlite NSL hubbed pole structure for generous interior volume and a fast, intuitive setup. With two doors and two expansive trapezoidal vestibules, Dagger OSMO leads its category for storage area and volume. We’ve also added some new features such as: the Divvy Cube™ rectangular stuff sack which packs better and allows you to split the load with a partner; the Landing Zone™ tub for protected storage under the vestibule; and our Gatekeeper™ door clips which make holding the doors back a cinch. Other thoughtful features include our overhead Nightlight Pocket™ headlamp diffuser for a comfortable glow at night, gear pockets for storage of personal items, and a 100% recycled Repreve™ pole bag that protects the poles and takes the place of unnecessary poly bags. Our Verdict
One of the first in a new range of tents built with NEMO’s new OSMO™ fabric. Made from 100% recycled materials, free of any harmful PFCs or PFAS, this new poly-nylon maximizes performance without impacting the environment. Made from a weave of strong, lightweight nylon and, a dimensionally stable (doesn’t stretch) polyester, which also doesn’t absorb water. NEMO has created a new fabric, that holds its shape better, has improved water repellency, and also saves weight.
The two features that stood out for me are the “landing zone”, essentially a small footprint with a bathtub side, which attaches to the inside of the vestibule. Brilliant for storing wet gear and muddy boots. The gatekeeper door clips, which are so simple, I’m shocked no one has come up with this idea before, no more fiddling about with loops of bungee cord, the doors are held with a simple plastic clip. The tent also has 2 internal pockets one by each door, and also 2-night light pockets, one on each end of the tent. The pockets store your head torch and diffuses the light, giving the tent a cosy glow.
The large bathtub floor offers great weather protection, keeping wind and rain out of the tent, yet the tent still has good ventilation, especially with the strut vents located on the top of each door, which provide additional airflow. Both doors and vestibules are of generous size, which can easily store the majority of your gear.
