Warm, tough and weatherproof. A dependable glove for mountain walking and winter use in mixed conditions.
Montane says:
Blending highly breathable, waterproof PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY with the durability of GRANITE Stretch, this highly protective glove is both tough and highly dexterous. Lined with SHERPA pile fleece for fast drying warmth, the reinforced goat leather is designed to lock out the elements keeping hands comfortable and protected.
Our Verdict
The Montane Supercell Petrichor Gloves combine a waterproof membrane with a goat leather palm and reinforced panels for durability and grip. At 198 g (Medium), they strike a sensible balance between insulation and dexterity. The GRANITE STRETCH softshell outer allows good dexterity, while the deep-pile lining feels comfortable and warms quickly. Grip and control are strong, and the waterproofing holds up well in wet snow or rain.
The fit feels snug and pre-curved for handling poles or tools, though those with wider hands may find them close-fitting. They’re not as insulated as heavier expedition options, but for active use in cold, damp conditions they perform very well. A reliable all-round glove for winter mountain walking, scrambling or general mountain use where weather protection and mobility both matter.
