Our Verdict
The Veil 2 uses Rab’s unique Multi-directional Mono Mesh fabric for the main body of the vest and stretchy side panelling on each side of the vest to improve fit and to help eliminate bounce and chafing. This makes for an incredibly comfortable vest that stretches and moves with you and that’s also lightweight and highly breathable. Two adjustable sternum straps hold the vest in place, so you can tailor the vest to suit your body shape.
The vest has a ridiculous number of pockets for quick on-the-go access to anything you may need, the large lumbar pocket on the back is perfect for storing a shell, and the side pockets below the shoulder straps are vast and can store your phone or a head torch. The vest has space for two water bottles that are included,and they sit snuggly in the shoulder straps.
If you are a runner that uses Z-poles, you can attach them to the side of the vest, out of the way of your arms. Sadly if you use telescopic poles, they will be too large for the vest to carry properly.
