Our Verdict
The Patagonia Windshadow Parka provides solid protection in cold, wet weather. At 1100g (Medium), the weight suits its role as a fully waterproof insulated layer, and the cut offers enough room for comfortable layering without feeling restrictive. The length gives good coverage, and the hood cinches securely for use in wind and rain.
The synthetic insulation delivers steady warmth for typical winter conditions, and breathability is reasonable for an insulated parka intended for everyday walking. The pocket layout is practical, with hand pockets that sit at a natural height and internal storage that keeps valuables secure. The cuffs and hem adjust cleanly to reduce draughts.
The recycled polyester shell feels durable, and the finish maintains its water-shedding ability well through regular wear. It is not aimed at high-output activity, but rather at general winter use, offering reliable weather protection with a straightforward, functional design.
