This is an interesting rucksack; Black Diamond has taken inspiration from their very popular running versts and incorporated their designs into their Pursuit range of rucksacks.

Our Verdict
The first thing you will notice about this rucksack is its running vest-style harness; these large shoulder straps and dual sternum straps really help to spread the weight of the pack across your whole upper body, and the large hip belt helps transition the weight of the pack on to your hips.
The running vest harness has the pockets you would expect to find on the vest, so you have places to store energy gels, keys and two soft water bottles. The straps and hip belt padding are made from a breathable mesh, which helps keep you cool when you are working hard on hot days.
There are two traditional water bottle pockets, right where you would expect them, but two extra pockets that wrap around the hip belt, good for storing gloves, a hat or a buff, things you need to access quickly.
This is a really well-fitting pack; for context, I'm six foot and have a 32 waist, and I used the medium-size pack, which fit me perfectly. It has a very streamlined look and feels tight, hugging but in no way constricting the upper body. The bag has a “Quick Pull Compression System”, a nice feature; a cord that runs throughout the backpack and can be cinched down to compress the entire bag.
This fast-packing bag will also appeal to some trail runners who need to take more kit, potentially for an overnight trip.
