Our Verdict
Patagonia's Retro Pile Jacket is a classic piece of kit that's perfect as a winter layer to keep the warmth in and the chill out. Double-sided shearling fleece is both a cosy lining and an effective hard-wearing outer, and when combined with finishing touches such as beefy YKK zippers, it makes for a versatile fleece for all conditions.
A small chest pocket gives the jumper extra functionality, and the large zip pulls make it a breeze to throw on even when wearing gloves. This is ultimately an excellent casual fleece with a bevy of features that make it a true cold-weather essential.
