Our Verdict
This is a fantastic layer for winter running and a brilliant baselayer for hiking year-round, specifically from late autumn to early spring. It's a well-fitted piece that is easy to layer over. The narrow collar is comfortable and protects the core from bitter winds in winter, but the ½ length zip can be opened to vent heat in warmer conditions. The split hem with bar tac helps to keep the layer in place, preventing it from riding up and causing irritation, especially when wearing a pack or running vest.
The main body of the Ridgeline is made from 102g/m² polyester but a lighter and more breathable 85g/m² under the arms and down the side of the chest. This helps to quickly move moisture away from the area you are most likely to sweat from. Laser-cut holes under the arms and at the top of the back also help vent heat.
The Ridgeline uses an odour control treatment so you can wear the layer day after day without it becoming too smelly.
