If yes, you should definitely consider the ORTLIEB Duffle RG. In contrast to the Duffle RS, which was conceived for expedition-level use, the Duffle RG is outfitted with an aluminum wheel frame that makes it especially easy to tow. Indeed, the bag’s large wheels, telescope aluminum handle and impact-proof underside give it excellent off-road handling.
Free standing when full or empty, the ORTLIEB Duffle RG can be moved in three different ways. It can be wheeled using the telescope handle, carried with one hand or worn as a backpack. The waterproof polyester fabric and the 10-mm waterproof TIZIP Masterseal zipper ensure that the bag’s contents remain optimally protected in all conditions.
Our Verdict
The Duffle RG is a waterproof heavy duty travel and expedition bag with large 90mm threaded wheels. It is made from tear-resistant and abrasion resistant Cordura fabrics so is ideal for using at airports terminals and rugged outdoor terrain. It's easy to transport as it has a large pull handle, an adjustable telescopic handle and padded shoulder straps so you can also wear it as a rucksack. It's Waterproof zipper has a large opening which means packing and unpacking couldn't be easier.
The bag has an internal compression strap to secure the contents and can be used to help adjust the volume. The compression strap also has a zipped pocket to help keep your valuables together. On the outside of the bag there is a mesh zipped pocket which is not waterproof but good for storing nick knacks. To secure the bag after packing you simply pull the large zip until closed and attach the black hook at the end. The bag does not come with a lock however it can be locked by inserting a padlock through the wire loop provided at the end of the zipper.
