The Seamless Down Hugger 800 is a new take on the traditional down bag design, with a fully seamless outer that creates unrestricted loft to maximise even warmth through the whole bag.

Our Verdict
Montbell's Seamless Down Hugger 800 Sleeping Bag is an innovative design that offers a different approach to down baffle design with a baffle-less outer to allow for the free movement of down across the outside of the bag to create a high level of even warmth.
The Seamless design is quite a step away from the normal baffling that is a foundation of down bags, and I was sceptical about this as the baffles are usually there to prevent down from moving around and creating cold spots, however the down does distribute very evenly across the bag as it allows for a greater lofting of the down. The inside of the bag does have baffles that keep a more controlled spread of down and acts in conjunction with the seam-less layers to create a very high level of warmth.
There isn't a lot of room inside the bag, but this means that it keeps the heat in well and prevents colds spots so while not one for those who are needing more room to move about, if you are slimer of frame then this will be good choice to maximise heat retention.
Due to the higher heat rating of this bag it is not the smallest pack size but with a compression sack it will go down smaller than your average synthetic bag, and has a better rating of any synthetic bag of a similar size.
The snag free zips add a bit of weight but prevent any damage to the bag from the material being caught. The hood is also very adjustable so provides a good seal for when it is really cold.
